Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 9 amβ7 pm. It is closed on Thursday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (415) 964-7062. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, dimtheway.com.

San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Francisco follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The rice rolls I got were so so good. The rice roll itself wasnβt too thick, and they gave me a lot of filling. The meal was also huge! You cannot beat the price; I paid less than $10 for my meal. I would definitely come back. The service is also great, and the food was done incredibly quick. Please support them!!

Is my first time here. The ambience is more South Florida key west with the color schema and vibe but is definitely a local Cantonese spot. Weβve tried the beef stew noodles with wontons, the pork congee, and the steamed rice rolls. All were great with the rice rolls being a βgreat findβ even better than some sit-down fancy dim sum places anywhere. The texture of the rice rolls were perfect: fresh made hot, with cilantro and spring onions, and plenty of fresh shrimps. Weβve also had the steamed beef rice rolls-just as good. The beef stew noodles with wonton were also great.

Ordered to-go beef mince roll and shrimp roll. The food was good. The owner/staff was friendly and welcoming. Visit this restaurant if you're in the area. A great, quick lunch spot.

2026 update: Dim The Way was busy at noon on a Sunday. I had to take my food to go as there were no place to sit. Wonton noodles remain excellent. It is nice to see a family owned restaurant busy. The chef is the dad, his children are waiting on tables. Updated review: Heads up, for the rice rolls, there are two free toppings available out of three. Pick from lettuce, green onion or coriander/cilantro. The toppings however, don't make it less plain as it is a plain dish. Same with the +$1 egg option. It tastes the same as before for my pork rice roll $6.80 +$1 egg without the options in a previous visit. At least it looks better. For the bbq pork wonton lo mein $13, this was OK as in my previous review. Service was meh. I was the only customer at 7pm. Didn't get a tea refill or perhaps I should have asked. The food came out fast. Original review: No more 21 Taste House. Their pork shoulder ramen will be missed. I asked the new owner if Susan opened another restaurant somewhere and the answer is no. Dim The Way is a daughter and father team. The food was OK. The beef stew lo mein $13 had OK flavors. That sauce they used made it OK. The noodles were too soft. Good lo mein noodles

Ordered takeout from here and it was really good! The rice rolls were super tasty and smooth, and the soy sauce was perfectly seasonedβso flavorful and well-balanced. I also loved their taro dumplingsοΌ soft taro filling. Definitely worth trying. Will order again!
